City Lives Walks is a project in collaboration with art photographer Ottavia Castellina.
Following a guided tour on a specific City Life, participants will have the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of historical figures and discover places for them significant.
Writers, poets, architects, scientists and other famous people, from Samuel Pepys to William Shakespeare to Charles Dickens (to name a few), through the centuries walked the streets of the City, witnessing their times and finding inspiration for their work. Participants, retracing those steps, will also find how to revisit memories, narrate places and express feelings.
City Lives is more than just an Instawalk. In addition to a tour lead by a qualified guide of the City of London, visitors will have the opportunity to record their experience through photography, thanks to the suggestions of a talented photographer. The pictures taken during the walk will be posted on Instagram with a specific hash-tag and they will constitute an archive in progress of mobile photography.
